Working on a Business Long Stay Visa
The Long Stay Temporary Business 457 Visa allows you to be sponsored in a full-time position by an Australian employer for a maximum of four years. However, you must secure employment with an Australian employer before applying for this visa.
If you have a Long Stay Temporary Business 457 Visa, you are required to work for the employer that has sponsored you in your nominated occupation. If you leave your job (or your employer ceases employment) you have 28 days to find a new position within your chosen occupation before you are in breach of your visa.
457 Visa holders who wish to change their employer or position are not be required to apply for a new 457 Visa, provided their current visa is still valid. However a nomination must be lodged and approved by your new sponsor (i.e. your new employer).
