Partner Visa Program Subclasses

There are three main subclasses under the Partner Visa category:

1. Spouse Visa

You must be legally married to, or in a de facto relationship with, an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.

2. Prospective Marriage

You must be living outside Australia and be engaged to an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen and you wish to marry your fiancé in Australia.

3. Interdependent Partner Visa

You must be in a serious, long-term relationship with an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen and you must live together. This subclass caters for same sex couples.
